If your 6'3 like me I usually hit my head on the top when getting in and out of them. I have to sit pretty uncoumftorably when driving them and theres a horrible blind spot on your back left when the top is up. When the tops up its pretty hard to see behind you and on your sides, but with a car like that who ever puts the top up?
The goods, excelent handeling and the car really responds to you. There is no power steering fluid, it is an electronic steering rack/pump and sounds different when turning the wheel lock to lock. They are very easy cars to work on, great acceceleration on teh 2.5 and the 3.0.
If you really want a good Z4 take my advice since Ive driven them all and worked on the ins and outs of them.
Get a 3.0, sport package, whatever rims you want, get a 6 speed (the 2005 Z4's have a short shift, it is the best gear shift Ive felt in a BMW yet.) make sure you get the sport seats, they are the most comftorable. If they come with speaker upgrades, get them it is the best sound system in a convertable Ive ever heard. You can max the base out so much that it distorts the speakers.
And as the M Z4 goes. I havent driven one yet but I got to drive it out of the wharehouse and from only going in reverse and driving about 300 feet it just feels like it blows the 3.0 out of the water.

I have my dream car a Z3. I've owned a number of sports cars from a Spitfire to an Europa but the Z has them beat, hands down.
For comfort, animities and fun to drive it is great. I love it, need I say more. Go for it and go find those winding roads.

Not making a big deal, but you haven't driven the Z4 //M Roadster and you work at the dealership? You haven't test driven it after completing QC1?
Yes, I've driven it...and it comes close to the M3, really close.

i just leased one (see Numark318i) and ill tell you its a very fun, fast car to drive, and still hasnt been broken in yet, so i havent unleased it past the 4500rpm...but for the power it has untill that spot is still amazing. the blind spot i dont care for, but you get used to it after a week, and the copholders are nice, but arent the most secure, unless you manufacture some clip on thing for the bottom of them. but the handling on this thing just blows me away...i hit a 20mph off ramp at about 55 which wasnt the smartest idea, and the car broke loose, but the DSC system kicked in an corrected everything...kind of crazy how well those systems work. the car also feels safe in a weird way, i think its mainly because you have that enormous hood in front of you, and although its still a roadster, this roadster is a little bigger than some, and by no means heavier, it just feels like it has way more crunch space in the case of an accident compaired to a z3, or a miata or a boxter...good stuff, amazing gas mileage, heated seats work very very good, and we managed to go camping with a tent, 2 sleeping bags, foldable air mattress, portable two burner gas grill, lots of clothes, and lots of food...so if you plan out your packing stragety in the trunk, you can acctually fit alot in there...it also an easy car to cruise in, as it doesnt really hike up through the mph on its own as alot of sports cars do...so its a breeze to crawl around town in. but my favorite thing about this car in my opinion would have to be that when you hit the turns and the top is down, it feels like im in a 70mph go-kart, it feels like you weigh two pounds...very nice feeling...look out lotus elise
so get that z4, its a great car...theres nothing to them, just pure roadster (unless you get that navigation crap...who needs that, its a convertable!)
If I test drove the M coupe, I would be going home with one.
you sound like my parents...and me in like five years.

I fail to see the problem with your statement?
