Z Series (Z3, Z4, Z8)General discussion and technical help for all year Z series cars.
fuck that si shit.
since when does "sport" on a bmw mean 4x4?
Um, they install heavy bump stops from factory, so shipping and height issues would not be a problem. I am pretty sure that is fresh off the truck. I remember seeing a right-off-the-truck M3 CSL and was questioning the "4x4ness" of it. Hopefully we will get to see some real pictures once they remove those spacer pieces.

My question is why isnt it called a Z4is and not a si. What are they trying to be like hondus now.
I dont know if anyone knows about the "Ride and Drive" that BMW dealers do. Theres a fleet of 14 or so cars that tours america and for every mile driven in one BMW donates a 1$ to breast cancer foundation. I heard you have to be over 21 to drive and over 24 to take out the 6,7 and convertables but that could just be a rumor. They have a Z4 sport that you can drive there but theres big pink ribbon stickers on it so its not that attractive.

Yea why isn't it an iS, and why the fuck does it look more ready for a dakar rally then the stock setup on an e30. You say its a sport, it must be a stick then.
*edit, saw Rob's post and that might explain it if not then i'm not sorry for my comment.
I know this is over a month old, but I thoughht I would clear something out:
'si' is just to distinguish which engine it has. The z4 3.0i has the same engine as does the e90 325i (215hp, methinks), while the z4 3.0si (which follows BMW's current conventio of preceding the 'i' with the distinguishing character, as in Ci, Li, and xi) has the 255hp 3.0 shared with the 330i e90 sedan.
's' is not for sport. I am sure you can get a z4 3.0i with the sport package, or a 3.0si without it.
