Rear end Noise and Shifter issue

I just bought a 2000 M Roadster. I have two questions:

1. There is a click/squeak (not sure how else to describe it) coming from what sounds the like the rear driver side while driving. It stops when braking. I lifted the rear end and turned the wheel by hand. The wheel spins freely buy on each revolution there is a spot where I can feel some slight drag from something rubbing i would assume. My guess is either a warped rotor or wheel bearing. I dont feel anything in the handling under acceleration, braking, or cornering.

2. Yesterday after driving around for a bit it became pretty much impossible to put the car into gear if not moving. If i was rolling even slightly i could put it in gear but it was still difficult. While driving through town I did not have any problems. This morning when i left for work however it shifted just fine, even at a dead stop.

Any help will be much appreciated. I will try to answer any questions as best as i can.

1) could be a rock or stone caught in the backing plate/rotor

2) Shiftpins - in the trans - they stick but try new fluid in the trans and bleed the clutch first as they are easy and cheap.
