where is everyone!
Icheck this forum evry couple of days and never find any new posts! Where are all the Z3 owners?
|
Well, this is my first post. Looks like I have joined the party late.
I picked up my Z3 3 weeks ago in Phoenix and drove her to her new home in El Paso. She has glove box sag (I ordered a kit from Zack). A power top that doesn't work (at the BMW dealer) an intermittent ABS light (at the BMW dealer) Rear end sag and the dealer wants to put in new shocks. Other than that she is in great shape. The one thing I have learned in 3 weeks is that the dealer can suck money out of my pocket faster than AIG can drain the Treasury. So, if anyone has any recomendations on the type of shocks & springs I would appreciate it. |
I fixed my glovebox with the same kit! Works great! You just have to be careful taking all the parts off in order to remove the box itself. I lost a few pieces... lol!

New Owner
We bought our 1998 Z3 2.8 in Sept 2009. The engine was in a box and buckets. Shipped it from St. Louis to Atlanta for my brother-in-law and his employees and (my nephews) to put back together. Put in used engine with about 40,000 miles, new tires, stuts, and several other major parts. Drove it back to Kansas City before the snows came! Now it runs as good as it looks!
Poor car has been waiting for the snow and ice to melt and the salt and sand to disappear -- then it can run around ... it will be waiting a while ... maybe even until spring. (It must avoid the crazy drivers, who forget every time it snows how to drive in the snow.) So my answer to where I am as an owner of a Z3 is just reading ... nothing to contribute ... yet. I feel your pain not being able to drive your z3. I live in western New York and my 1999 z3 comes off the road in October and does not go back on the road until May. It sits in my garage with it's cover. I start it up about every two weeks to keep the battery fresh and to here the engine purr!

yeah... this site is not as active as the others... but for what it's worth, i'm a Z3 owner... "lifer" actually...

This site is pretty quite most of the time, but it has gotten better over the years. I do not come here that often myself as I am on the other forums.
