Did you guys know there are tinted windows that act as solar panels? Check this car that's coming out in a year or two http://www.zapworld.com/files/zap-docs/zap-apx.pdf It's made by zap and designed by lotus. Here's an example of what we can do with solar panels now a days http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0130194130.htm But I could go on forever about the crap that's out and coming out... And now back to the topic of will BMW owners buy a hybrid X5. I think it'll be awhile before people think of BMW as a hybrid/electric car company. But who knows people like BMW for being well engineered so it might catch on.

I def. think there's a huge potential in it
it's sad that German car makers have for a long time pretty much abandoned the thought of alternative energies and hybrid cars...
don't talk about the crappy Hydrogen Bimmers, I'm ashamed if I think of them...

edit: I jsut read that ZAP leaflet... that seems like an awesome idea: a car that produces up to 644 hp and can drive up to 350 miles per charge... :woot I'd buy that
