You could, but you wouldn't want to. I'm sure if you just gave it a better tune it would be more powerful than the E46 M# they probably detuned it a bit from the factory so that soccer moms who know nothing about cars that just want the expensive one don't kill themselves.

So give it a better tune will probably = E46 M3

Upgrade the blower and then tune it = WOWZER!

EDIT: Didn't realize it was a twin turbo....

So upgrade the Main blower and then tune it =holy shit

(for thsoe who aren't into FI, on a twin turbo, the smaller turbo is there to get thebig turbo going, essentially eliminating the turbo lag from just one big blower. )

I bet you could get some crazy HP out of this setup with a little bit of tuning and some choice parts. Look at it this way. The 97' supra twin turbo had 327 HP at the crank from the factory. without upgrading internals, people have been able to turn them into 600 RWHP beasts just by taking out the turbo setup and putting one massive turbo in there. The potential with this car will be endless. I see this as the new tuner car for BMW enthusiasts who want M3 horsepower without the price tag.

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

yea but i guess an ///M is always an ///M, just something special, handling, looks, value too, i mean yea its more expensive, however after the value of the ///M depreciates, it stop sthen eventually starts going back up, just look at the e30 M3s, they go for ~ 14K! well, who knows to each his own i guess

Oh by all means, the M is by far a greater investment, and you definitley get your money's worth with an M. i'm just saying that for people who want bmw's with huge HP, this will probably become the car of choice.

The e30 ///Ms go for so much because they are a much rarer car than the e36 of 46 ///Ms and they have now started to become a collectors item (if all goes well in about a year I will have one)

I agree with Chris I think given the info we have that it could be a car that we see big numbers from after tuners get their hands on them.

I'm going to call you on that one. I beg to differ.

Show me several e30 M3s that are over $40K.

^^^^ Yeah but wait for the #E6 and E46 M's to depreciate in 17 years like the E30's. Thats the beauty of car collecting. You never know what a car's going to be worth unyil iiyd yime to sell it if you're lucky or buy it if you're rich.

wth are you calling him on? he never said they were more price wise than a E46 or E36 M3. he just said they were more rare and thus carry a bit higher price than before.

there is no way you can tell me that an E30 M3 isnt rare, and rarity *often* times creates a hard to find situation, in turn creates a collector's item.

lot, just because something isnt brand new, doesnt mean its not worth anything. . .

I'll take an E30 M3 over an E46 M3 any day. So much heritage, you're actually owning a piece of history.

In 20 years, the E30 M3 will be $100,000 collector car. No question about it. You can't say that about any other NON exotic car from that era.
