The Golf has been renamed the Rabbit...or rather, the Rabbit has gotten its original name back. I wonder if the Jetta will go back to being the Fox...

The Jetta was never the Fox . . the Fox was originally built for the South American market as its own distinct model. I owned a '93, no frills, but hell, it ran

In my memory, the Fox was a Rabbit with a trunk...as the Jetta was a Golf with a trunk...but I was apparently remembering wrongly. My bad.

But you don't quite have the whole story, either. The Fox name has a more complicated history than either of us supposed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_Fox

as i understand it most of their older models were based on the same body, just different in that some had a trunk, folding roof, truck bed, etc. most of the noses and engines were the same thru different models.

i like those new GTi commercials. im feeling that unpimp their auto. v dub.
