After the holidays there is killer coverage of the Dakar Rally on OLN. It's the road rally from Madrid to Dakar. It takes 2 weeks and it's through some of the worlds' most intense conditions (sand,water, desert, jungles) Last year it had 300+ vehicles - cycles, cars & 5ton trucks.

OLN network covers it nightly for the days segments and you won't believe some of the crap these folks go through. It starts like Jan 1st or just after. I'll post more info when it's available.

:doh I have an interview with a guy this weekend who wants me to work some gigs there from Jan 7th through Feb 17th in Italy.

UPDATE: Dakar Rally starts Jan.14th on OLN - it's covered nightly and it's brutal...

For the amount of work you do, I hope they pay you well. ;)

They treat me very well and I love what I do. It's taken time & has had it's moments but has been worth every moment of the "trip". If it was any better it would be illeagal.

:drive2 some of last years highlights

Another update for you "fair weather" fanatics. If you're stuck indoors during the drab month of January and typical TV sucks - here's another little something you might dig - Barrett/Jackson Auto auction from Scottsdale - Jan 14th thru the 22nd, Speed tv covers it but I'm not sure they'll cover the entire week. They usually cover the final weekend when the high rollin' $$$ machines cross the chopping block. You want to see people pay big "jing" for rides? Then you'll be glued to the tv with this broadcast :iwave

Hope you catch Dakar Rally (starting this weekend) I have my TIVO ready for this wallbangar. Even Italian TV has had updates - unfortunetly a biker got killed in an accident according to highlights. If you guys want to see endurance at it's finest/extreme this is the place. There's a couple of X5s again this year. OLN network does the coverage nightly after the race is completed. They edit each days event into a one hour highlight segment then shows it each night for 14 days. It's balls out!!!

I wish I had OLN

Europeans think that the best fun is to sit on the edge of a corner that they KNOW a competitor will come flying off. Then they all swarm the guy and push his car back onto the rally course... crazy isn't it? I guess they enjoy being hit by flying cars.
