1996 Cadillac STS 1/4 mile runs/Pics Killing a WRX at Track
Although not a BMW (want to own an M5), this Cadillac STS will suffice, especially as a Sleeper with the 300 HP Northstar. Let me know what you think about the videos. I also have pics of a torn down Northstar that was driven by a granny. It shows why you should always run high compression engines hard or they die like the one I show on the web site.
Cool vids man. But that GTI Turbo must have been running what like 2psi? It never seemed like it ever kicked in. Also doesn't the STS have a big old V8 in it? I would hope it would spank these little 4 bangers :P Good vids none the less and welcome to United Bimmers.
Also awesome one with your son in there! "Holy shit!" "You dusted him!"

I love the STS don't get me wrong i'm a huge fan of cadillac. I have a 95 Deville with the 32v Northstar (300hp) in the driveway at home.
WRX was either an automatic or he shifts WAY to early cause he definitely didn't take it to peak power rpm (no i don't mean redline)
In my deville i've raced my friends WRX when he was still stock and he trashed on it. all i had to do was press the auto to the floor and he was shiftin and still whooped me.
Those cars are very hard to launch due to the awd system and the turbocharger.
you have to bump the throttle to maintain boost and feather the clutch out fairly quickly but not just drop it cause the stock drivetrain can't handle that kind of abuse.

Thanks for the comments. Like I have experienced, a race is a race and you have to know how to drive the machine you have. I like this forum already. I still want to buy an M5, but the STS is paid for and it is fun for what I use it for. Wasn't the WRX guys comments funny? He said, Dude, he anihilated me and his friend says, did he get you real bad off the line I have another one where a 2004 GTO just barely beats me when I ran 14.5 and he ran 14.03 or so. I will be at the track next Friday and will send more vids. Love those Bimmers though!!!
