Okay, so we are in the middle of the E30's water pump replacement.
Here are two problems:
1) We had to snip the old A/C belt to get it off and there is no way that we can see to get it back on properly.
2) Do we need gasket sealant on this motor? The Hanyes book doesn't say anything about it and neither does the dealer manual that we have, but my dad seems to think it does.
Also, this is a 1984 318i, M10 motor. The gasket is a paper gasket, no o-ring.
I know this is the wrong forum, but I need some quick advice before I finish dinner.
THANKS!!!

2)I don't know, but it won't hurt. So if you're not sure, put a thin coat of sealant. But generally, if it has an o-ring like the E36, it won't require sealant.
^^^ I was actually just reading that link, but thanks. Also, does anyone know what kind of coolant we need to put back in? We seem to have lost the owner's manual too.
