The Dakar started earlier this week - but TV coverage starts Sat 1.6 on VS channel (the old OLN) - they have the highlights twice daily for the next 3 weeks. You haven't experienced hard core racing until you've seen this - this is brutal endurance through every climate condition.
my parents will never let me watch racing so im pretty much out
Why wouldn't your folks let you watch racing? It's not obscene - it's competition it's a sport. Are they mormon or something? They let you have a computer but not let you watch racing?
the begining "legs" are mild - they get progressively worse - try driving a sand dune desert for miles - no actual roads and keep your bearings. And competing to stay ahead of 2-300 competitors. Let the beatings begin

Not to mention deciding which route to take... that split second instinct you have to follow the tracks on the sand or keep your ears 100% on your navigator. I think that would be the hardest for me.
