Racing Gasoline?
Was pumping gas into the car and saw one of the pumps that said "Racing Gasoline" on it 100 octane and at $6 a gallon . Why is it so expensive and can we use it on our cars?

AFAIK we can't use it because it needs timing advanced more than our cars can be set. |

no point in race gas for a car that is not tuned for it. race gas is good for high boost turbo cars. 100 octane is good but there is still much better out there. c16ftw! |

He means pre-ignition or "knock" that can happen from using lower octane like 89 or 87. You'll have none if you use 93 most likely |

no it wont hurt the car, basically, higher octane means it combusts under higher pressure and doesnt combust as easily, therefore when you have a car thats a turbo, you have ot use 93 octane because if you put 87 in there, when the air is compressed, even before the spark it will ignite the fuel, which is very bad. i dont know if it will make any difference in terms of performance though

There's this tiny gas station near my dad's house, they have 100 octane gas for $7.25/gal. The attendant says only the rice rockets buy it..."you know, the ones with all dem stickers and wings..." Dough
