we have all done it.. but how do you get away with it?

alright.. so you have been drinking(under age obviously) all night and its time to come home... you get there and you find your parents are waiting up for you.... what do you do to get past them without gettin cought? they get real close to you and ask "where have you been?" and your breath obviously smalls like alcohal. what do you do? thats had me stumped for the longest time(mainly because i have never done such a thing). just curious.

I had a friend who would take a bite out of a raw onion right before heading back home. You know, for camouflage.

for the longest time i was concerned about it. im sure they know i drink but they never said anything. over turkey break i didnt go home one night and got the call in the morning "so. too drunk to come home huh?" besides that ive never been called out. i like to think of it as a mutual agreement, i dont drive, or get arrested and they dont bother me.

though just for the story. one night i chugged a bottle of jack daniels, blacked out. but my friend said i was liek, couldnt stand up drunk. he picked me up and put me in the back of his truck and drove me home in a rain storm. he said i stumbled getting off the truck. took a deep breath. and walked PERFECTLY straight to the door, didnt fumble with my keys or anything. so apearently im a good fake.

I never came home. I just spent the night at a friend's house. They always went for that.

That's the hard part. What happens when they lose trust in you? Then you're in for it. Restrictions galore!

Or, you could do the opposite of trying to "hide" the obvious problem, in just telling them the truth.

I went out last night and stayed out till 2am.

The next afternoon,
My mom: What time did you get in? What were you doing? Were you drinking?
Me: Around 2, haning out with BMW customers who were engineers at aircraft companies (my dad's an engineer at an aircraft company). Ohhhh I had a couple drinks.
Mom: You never are straight forward with me about drinking....
Me: Fine! I had 2 glasses of wine and a pale ale. (forgot the Jager Bomb, whoops! )
My mom: What's pale ale?
My dad: Beer.
My mom: Lots of water right?
Me: Yes, lots of water.

End of story.

man... this reminds me of the days when i was young and living with my parents.

i would get wasted and sleep in my car some where, get up and go home the next morning. my parents could smell me as i was pulling in the driveway. they knew i had been drinking, we never exchanged words when i would get home. woke up at 4pm sat. and got a shower and told them i was going out. all they said is call to tell if i am coming home and be safe. they know i have a head on these shoulders.

i think you can get a DUI in CA for doing that. maybe its only if ht ekeys are in the ignition(what a guy i know did[he passed out in his car, but forgot the keys in the ignition])
He got arrested at 4am for attempted drunk driving.

Hey craig, make sure you dont loose their trust. If your in some shit, make sure to call them and tell them up front you fucked up..they might give you a little break the first time and not loose all your trust, as opposed to not telling them, and having them find out.

thats the worst.

*edt* one more thing..drunken posts ftl..i know all about them.

well you see.. they are pretty big christians and are anti-drinking(even tho it says right in the bible that its ok to drink as long as you dont get too drunk/addicted to it). so im not realy sure what they would do if they cought me. but if they just hear it from someone els then i could just argue it off as a rumor(rumors fly FAST through tribune). and it wouldnt be the first time people have spread pretty bad rumors about me(im the most hated guy in tribune thats under 18).

ahhh...well in case of fanatical parents..ok not fanatical but strict...maybe you should stick to your method. If they ever try leveling with you though, dont pass up the chance.
