Easy. My e36 is getting old. It's starting to cost $$ to keep operating, and it totally sucks in the snow. I have a long commute and breaking down on the turnpike is no longer for me. I saw a great opportunity to pick up a TL for cheap. It has 120,000 less miles than my bimmer. Do I need to explain more?
BTW - My e36 is up for sale - asking $8500.

it's sweet, 'sperf. I would have bought one that was 6 speed and nav, but the 6 speed would be a pita on the Pa turnpike. Stop and go all the time, everyday.
One day, when I am loaded, I will own a z3 2.8 with a 5 or 6 speed as a second car. Right now, I am not that loaded... haha...

It would be a no-brainer for me. It's funny that so many replies are kinda, "well, you gotta do what you gotta do," or "I guess, if that floats your boat," etc. It's not like he is getting a Daewoo. Honda engines are excellent (in fact, Honda is regarded as a maker of better engines than BMW), and the TL gives you the total package with the luxury ammenities. I know it is FWD, but from what I hear, you can barely tell. The only thing that keeps me from shifting to Acura is the FWD (in the TL, I am not very happy with the weird rear sidemarkers, ).
