Mine did the same thing, had fuel, had enough volts, had spark and I had ?? The problem was that every once in a while I would start it up and not run it for long enough, this in turn fowled my spark plugs.
To get it to run I just took out my plugs, dried them off and it seemed to start after that.
The only difference I noticed for your symptoms is that yours was cranking, but was it acting like it wanted to start, did it actually sound like it fired but just wouldn't run? This is how mine sounded.
yea do what defkon said, and aslo what RSF5 said, try to jump it, does the starter sound like its spinning normally? oh, and is it atleast attempting to start or not? you could have a big problem(like timing chain snapped) but i highly doubt that

I wouldn't recommend jump starting a BMW... it's a coinflip if you fry some part of the electrical system.
Do it correctly. Unplug the battery, toss it in the trunk of another car and take it up to Autozone. They'll charge it for free and it only takes about half an hour.
I've jump started my car and my Dad's 7 Series. BMW's have bolt clips in the engine bay, one for ground and one for the + connect, I wouldn't think it would overload enough to fry anything. But if its a free charge why not?

haha..... Major vacuum leak was the problem. It turns out that whoever did the M50 manifold conversion didn't use the adapter plate required for the conversion and there are .5mm gaps between the manifold and the engine. never noticed before cause the car was always rnning a couple tiems a day so things didn't dry up and show the holes.

???What does a M50 conversion actually do for a 328?? I've heard alot of rumors about a m50 intake manifold on an M3!!!
its like Vtech....100 exra horsepower while adding 20 pounds.
