I bought a new laptop and gave my dad the one that died. It was the first week of school so I didn't have time to replace the hard drive, but that's what my dad's gonna do when he gets the time.
I work for compusa, what kinda computer is it, if it's ticking it's ur hardddrive, the Blower Heatsink has bearing aswell and is one big unit on most laptops. and after collecting dust and building up heat it causes the blower fan to struggle. cause that sound.
But without like really hearing it. i cant tell u what it is
blower fan heatsinks cost around 150 dollars just for the part. so pray it's not that

Replacing the HD solves the problem. At least i don't have to buy a new unit if that is the case.

Since you mentioned that. Sorry...but I just had to ask.
What laptops do you recommend? Not Apples, yet.
I know the more you pay the better the computer....so tell me average "good" laptops. Dell, Sony, Gateway, Toshiba...not mentioned?
