View Poll Results: DINAN or Alternative Aftermarket Company
DINAN vs. Other Aftermarket companies, What makes DINAN better? Is DINAN better? Why is it more expensive? If you had a DINAN intake, exhaust, throttle bodies and engine software wouldn't they all be engineered to work together as opposed to having to mix and match other aftermarket parts if one part is not offered by a company? Start Discussion Thread.
If you haven't driven anything Dinan, you have NO room to speak.
I mean, it speaks for itself. Their exaust...is throaty, deep....
IMO, Dinan is in it's own world. First thing that comes to my mind when mentioning BMWs....is Dinan.
They go hand in hand. AND, the most tuned BMWs that come in ARE Dinan.
They also appreciate the car's value. True, true. If you need to ask more about this. Remind me of the e39 M5 story.
Hello All!
I absolutely love my Dinan mods!! Couldn't agree more here! After 25+ years of proven engineering and manufacturing of high performance wares exclusively for BMWs (and now Minis also), Dinan is arguably North America's premier aftermarket tuner.
Dinan command top $$ for their unquestioned engineering prowess, exhaustive R & D and product testing. Their product offerings have earned nothing less than critical acclaim from everyone important it seems - including the respect and accolades of many independent motoring nuts such as BIMMER Magazine, Car & Driver, Motor Trend, Auto Week, Roundel, Road & Track, and even the prestigious Robb Report.
More to the point though, Dinan is the ONLY aftermarket tuner fully approved by BMW of North America. This includes a FULL 4-year factory warranty in addition to the full warranty offered by BMW of NA. For me, after recently purchasing my new E60 5 series, it was a no-brainer going with Dinan.
Their quality is beyond reproach, backed by a full warranty to boot and even BMW's NA's own blessing to "proceed ahead" without compromising or violating their own warranty. As you can see in my sig, I've done a few Dinan mods below. I absolutely love the end results and never looked back. I get compliments and praises wherever I go also, though I tried damn hard to keep the car incognito and 'sleeper' like.
It's definitely more car than I'll ever need or could use now!!! To me, Dinan is both the smart and only way to go, particularly if you're talking modding a new BMW (unless of course you go the full european tuner route such as AC Schntzer, Hamann, etc.) .
BMW of NA is very strict about their warranty coverage in light of aftermarket mods. You're taking a big chance of voiding the existing new car warranty going with anything less than Dinan. Hope this helps. BEST REGARDS ALL,
^^^ If I didn't know better I would think Gold Panda was someone from DINAN spamming. He seems to have had a very good experience with them.
Ha ha. Let me assure you I'm not at all affliated with Dinan nor is this some sort of compensated advertisment on their behalf. Just a really big fan of their goods. Very, very sweet stuff guys!!!
They perform great, looks superb in terms of fit and quality (consistent with BMW's high standards) and carry a solid, well earned reputation over the many years.
So yes, so far at least, I'm enjoying a very positive experience from Dinan. Their exclusive warranty on new BMW's makes it that much more reassuring. BEST REGARDS ALL!

I couldn't agree more with gold panda. All of their products are engineered to work in unison. I have a stage 1 dinan, except I have a Remus exhaust. Remus and Dinan use the same manufacturing company to make their exhaust. Essentially they are the same exhausts with different names.
For exterior and interior mods, I have only AC Schnitzer.
Hands down, the dinan engine mods are top of the line and backed by them.
In general, you get what you pay for. Dinan is very good, but not as good as they charge, in my opinion. However, there is such great value in being able to hold on to the car's warranty, that they can get away with it.

Recently heard thru the grapevine.......Nearly forgot to mention that the upcoming October 2006 issue (#62) of BIMMER Magazine will be doing a detailed feature on the Dinan Tuned E60 545i Sports Sedan.
No, it's not my car, but Dinan's very own "black-on-black" (looking of course very mean, sharp and aggressive no less) E60 built up at their state-of-the-art Morgan Hill, CA high performance headquarters. You can be sure this is one issue I'll be looking forward to reading with much interest. Oh yeah!!!!

I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for that in the magazine this month.
Off topic, but gold panda where in the bay area are you from? I'm in Walnut Creek and just bought my first bmw yesterday.
Hey there!
I'm here in the gorgeous city by the bay, yes, San Francisco.
Love the Walnut Creek scene also, but haven't been back since last year after getting slapped with a $60 ticket for an expired parking meter at your Broadway (?) shopping center. Man, that's more than S.F. even for a lousy expired meter.
Was doing a fab lunch at your California Pizza joint (still there?) and even paid for a full 2 hrs on the ole' meter right across the street.
Time just expired when I was running at full sprint to try to stop and beg for mercy with your W.C. parking lady, but unfortunately to no avail.
Guess I didn't look anything close to dapper James Bond. Ha ha. Oh well, consider it a nice donation to your city's public works department!!
On another note, a big congrats on your 1st BMW and welcome to the fraternity bro!! Believe me, your latest purchase is truly a life-altering event!! ENJOY!!!

Hey thanks a lot man, and sorry to hear about that ticket. Just mention my name next time . Yeah California Pizza Kitchen is still here, love that place. I like the city a lot too, was just down there the other night for the Zach Galafianakis comedy show at the Fillmore. Lots of laughs. Anyway I'll see you around, maybe at some sort of Bay Area meet .
