Rogue IKON vs AA Gen3

Well, time is calling for a new fart pipe.

Am debating between ROGUE Engineering’s IKON or AA's GEN 3

Both of them sound good to me, the AA does seem to get a tad bit louder, but not bad at all.

Here are a few VIDS:

IKON - MSRP $425

AA - MSRP $689

I do like the way the Rogue looks a bit better, plus it's ~ $200 bucks cheaper. But I am still a tad bit afraid it would be too close to stock?

Sorry, but I have to point out.....you are considering a $700 AA exaust.

Annnnd, $100 more could get you this...

Free Flow Exhaust
Engine Tuning

Part #: D660-4602

Price: $799.00

Labor Units: 15.0
Emission Status: 50 State Emission Legal
Peak Horsepower: 238 @ 5900 rpm*
Peak Horsepower Gain: 5 @ 6500 rpm
Peak Torque: 224 lb/ft @ 3500 rpm*
Peak Torque Gain: 4 lb/ft @ 6500 rpm
Point Value: 3

Dinan's Free Flow Exhaust for the 3 series models provides increased flow for power gains without the excessive noise associated with typical "performance" mufflers. The Dinan exhausts feature rigid and durable muffler cases manufactured from 20 gauge 304-stainless steel for optimum corrosion resistance. Internally, the systems feature Dinan's Tuned Resonance Chamber technology which provides the optimum balance between maximum power gains and a civilized, yet sporty exhaust note. The Dinan exhaust also provides substantial weight reduction compared to the stock muffler, weighing in at just over 17 lbs. compared to the stock system at 28 lbs. Dual 2.5 inch diameter polished stainless steel exhaust tips give the cars a tasteful performance look as well.
I'm very convinced about Dinan. I've driven many Dinan cars, and yes....IMO it is worth it.

go for the cheaper one dude, they look relatively the same except for the AA is written on the pipes on one, which no one will notice unless you show.

I haven't heard of that rogue engineering exhaust, i've only seen the e36 one. Probably sound nothing like your old exhaust on your e36. I would go with whatever exhaust a lot of e46 owners use. I am not really sure what they use though, I assume something like the AA one.

After listening to a few sound clips, the DINAN, jsut sounds way too raw for my taste, and humm... it kind of looks cheap

So far am leaning towards to Rogue both becasue of price and due to the fact that it sounds good too, the Aa sounds VERY close to it but get's pretty raw at WOT (am not after that this time around)

You asked for inputs. I had to have my say.
And I voted for Dinan.

Haven't heard AA or Rogue. So, can't say which to vote for.

I should look for sound clips.

Speaking of Dinan, I just drove a 99 M3 with Dinan exaust...and it was impressive. I don't think I've ever driven an non-M e46 with Dinan. I'll put that on one of my goals to do.

But seriously, my vote is for Dinan.

dinan seems so expensive for their parts, they don't even seem better than other aftermarket companies.

cause it is not. the only selling point dinan has is its supposed warranty which most people seem to find does not work when they try to use it.

sure dinan makes good stuff but it is not any better than the alternatives out there and it costs alot more. dinan ftl
