He was very swollen from the surgery, and some of the blistering of the 2nd degree burns are starting to show now, however the surgery went fairly well. It lasted over 5 hours, with them grafting skin from his inside right thigh onto his left back.

There's a new theory of what happened to him that night, which chrisdoesntknow or myself will post later on. The car might have saved his life after all.

good to hear that everything seems to be going well right now. I assume he will have to have a few more surgeries because some extra burns were found on his face I believe chris with the mustang said?

So i talked to the man that saved Zak's life. He's sending me pictures. they'll be in another thread.

So what happened was Zak was driving down this long straight away, probably too fast. He got 1/3 of the way through the turn when he slid off the road. When he slid off the road, his car when completely airborne and clearcut a telephone pole about a foot and a half from the base of the pole. Exposed from the pole was a steel mounting stake that they use to hold the pole straight up and down. 99% chance is that this pole is what ripped the fuel tank clear open. The car then rotated to the right before landing. The car caught fire immediately. The car exploded approximately 30 seconds after initial contact. The guy had to pull zak the rest of the way out of the car. and get him to safety just as the car exploded. The guy has been a professional race car driver for more than 30 years and he said two things. 1) if he had been asleep, he never would have made it through the first 1/3 of the turn 2) from his experience and his knowledge of the crash, he estimates that zak was going between 80 and 90 miles per hour when he lost control. Thats not proven, but thats what likely happened.

He also stated quite clearly that from what he saw and the pictures he took, if someone else had been in the car with Zak, they would died on impact as the telephone pole completely demolished the front right 25% of the car all the way back to the back seat.

I'll have pictures and more details when i get them. Mr. Harris is in a meeting right now and he'll sned me the pictures as soon as he gets out.

THE COP WAS ALSO A MORON AND MOVED ZAK FROM HIS SAFE SPOT BY THE TREES OUT INTO THE ROAD NEXT TO THE FIRE AND DIRECTLY UNDER THE POWER LINES WHAT WERE SEVERLY MISSING SUPPORT.

Man taking turns at probably 80-90.. He really is lucky to be alive, I hope he is still doing well after that surgery. I will try to get a care package together, I would send him a bmw mag, but then he would probably have like 6 copies of the same one, i'll look for something else.

Holy shit, guys. And here I am worried about jumping the gun on a car purchase.

I havent been around lately, and I dont know that I've met Zak on here, but my thoughts and prayers are with him. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation of what occurred. I am sure he will be okay and wish him a speedy recovery, indeed. I hope his family is doing well.
