tribune kansas BURNOUT competition.

tribune is having a burn out competition during the fair this year (instead of the muddrags) and i would like to join. but i have one problem: my car cant do a good burnout unless its wet. what would be the cheapest and best ways to get some horse power? i was thinking a supercharger, but there is no tuning shop near here and im not realy in the mood to blow an engine. so i was thinking, cols air intake, flowmaster exhaust system, and a performance chip. would there be a better way to go? or should i just get the SC and risk the engine? (i can find another one easily. lol) i know im not going to win cause im going to go against alot of corvettes(one of them is a 70's vette with 500HP)) but i would atleast like to put on a good show.

and if i still cant do a burnout with the mods, then im going in with the MINIVAN as a joke. lol.

question: what works best for lots of smoke and lots of.. no traction? clorox? and i have also heard oil works good. any others?

hard tires (that you might be able to borrow from a tire shop) and a universal windshield washer pump, pumping clorox/water/baby formula/whatever your tires desire into the inside each of the fenderwells. squirt a little before and during the burnout (ftw)

you laugh but the most ridiculous looking car gets the win if it comes down to the audience to decide by applause. The Corvettes guys wont do a burnout until they blow a tire <evil grin> We held one at a car audio sound-off and one guy in an old chevy truck spun 'til it blew his right rear, it tore up his inner and outer rear fender, but he didnt care, it was his farm truck lol....

so just go with the intake, exhaust and chip? or try the supercharger(like i said, i can find a new engine extreamly easily)? cause the supercharger would raise my HP to 230, and the exhaust chip and intake would only take me to about 160-170(and is also more expencive). what do you think?

what kind of tires should i get? what tires are superhard?

do the SC. fuck engine reliability. You want to win. Definitely run those water lines with injectors to your rear fenderwells and aim then right at your tires. Shouldn't be too hard.

^no, i was going to mod the car anyways. and keep in mind that some of the thunderbirds came with superchargers, so i can get a whole kit on ebay used for $450.

Where are you going to get the money to buy all this stuff?

Did you find another job?

I suggest burning out the minivan. Your parents will be pissed, but it would be fun seeing an old minivan doing burnouts.

if thunderbirds came with superchargers, you dont need special tuning, just get the ECU from that car, and secondly, raise your rear suspension, for burnouts, and do the burnouts in reverse, it is much easier(as if it is a FWD car) put oil on your tires.. etc etc

^i didnt relize you could step on the brake like that in reverse. and just cause i dont have a job dosnt mean i dont have money. i have my ways .

so what would be a safe PSI? 8-9?

and also, what would i have to get for both tires to lose traction? right now only one tire does.

Having the parking brake on a bit can help that. It's cause you have an open differential (no limited slip or posi tracktion) But it will ruin whatever is used as parking brake a bit

parking brake locks the rear wheels, his car is rear wheel drive, not a good idea(its a common mistake to assume its FWD), but what you could do, is #1 get a locked differential, i know for Ford Crown Victorias you can take your car to some shops and they will lock your differential for you meaning both wheels spin at the same rate, ALL the time(taxi drivers and police do it all the time), and the other thing you could do, as Rooz originally planned on doing(w/e happened to that?) is buying a braking system that just locks the front wheels only, they sell them specifically for burnouts, they arent expensive, ill try to find a link

you probably won't be able to control the boost level on the SC, especially if it is a stock unit. The only way that I know to adjust boost levels is to change the pulley ratios for different impeller angular velocity
