I think all my income was under the table so no taxes here. However, since my parents are self employeed they got raped this year. They had to pay ~11k

I don't think they have to pay all at once, but over the course of the year or something. I think they are just in a horrible spot in their certain bracket. And being self employeed I think they don't pay too many taxes during the year, but pay a but load when tax time comes. I'm not really educated on tax laws or what not

My in-law's had to pay $46,000 in taxes this year. They had a piece of property he sold for a good chunk of money.
