Since it's been slow lately... a challenge - United Bimmer Community

So we all know that its been slow around here lately not just in the lounge, but in all areas of UB.c, so i was thinking of a goal. And here it is.

Every single regular here, gets on at least nce a week, so my challenege is that every member with at least 500 posts starts two new threads a week minimum. This isn't from harry or anything, this is a challenge from me to you to try to keep this place growing, we need to give all the fresh meatcoming in a reason to stay.

pretty simple right? There's a catch though. Out of these two threads, they both must be informative, they need to be interesting, and they need to spark conversation. Oh and one last note, out of these measley two threads, only one of them is allowed to be in the lounge. the other one needs to be in another part of UB, we need to spark some growth in the information side of the sight here.

So basically, for everyone who didn't read the whole thread, basically if you have 500 posts or more, i challenge you to make two new threads a week that you think will add something to UB and you think will spark conversation and one at least one of these threads must be in an informative part of UB.

C'mon guys! Harry created this amazing site for us and puts a lot into it, its our turn to do our parts and keep this place growing!

Anyone else is welcome to this challenge too, 500 is just a number that I pulled out of nowhere

So if we have 200 regulars... that's 400 new threads/week. Damn. I don't think I can handle that much

I made one post and one new thread today... but if you make this "challange" then some people will just post stupid shit just to post. I could be wrong, but that's just what it could turn into.

I would think the newb with 5 posts has as much to say, and has as much ownership of this place as the member with 500

Exactly, hence why they're called Newbs. So lets rework that challange. Newbs unite, I/we challange you to give forth your problems/questions to the senior members! Lets see if you can throw us.

What I was trying to say above was that "newb" doesn't necessarily mean "inexperienced". And a senior is just that- a senior, and not necessarily wiser . . . if one of them (me

) can manage to blow up his own radiator, that's not saying much

the stupid shit comment was anticipated by me saying that it was to be something that you honestly thought would make a positive contribution to the knowledg of the community. this is to spur activity. if you give this challenge to newbs, they'll think, this forum is to much effort, F this. its our duty as senior members to not only keep this community alive, but to keep it thriving.

dudesky, it doesn't have to be fact, it cna be an interseting news article, or a write up about a new car coming out, or spy shots, anything that will spur activity.

Of course, but most of the new persons on here ask questions that we've answered dozens of times OR they ask some other question as thier first post. I'm not complaining, I'm just agreeing with ur inital comment, that new people have more questions than the other ones that are "senior" members. Shit, I still ask questions too....
