My weekend started off with a bang. After helping with Harry's car, I went home then called up a friend, to find out that he was going to the AMC 18. I met him with a few others later on and ended up seeing Silent Hill, a decent movie, I guess. Not only did the movie stop once, but someone pulled the fire alarm within the last 10 minutes of movie. From there, we headed home. Of course, if anyone on here has ever been on Lawrenceville-Suwannee road, it has some nice straight aways and curves as well. Since it was 1AM, no one was out, or so we thought. I pulled up at the stop light and of course, my friend decided to rev it up. I told him that I was tired and really would like to skip, but it just kept nagging me into submission. I looked all around with nothing in site. The light turns green and we take off quite slow, because both of us would just break loose anyway, and then added some power. Next thing I notice was my radar going off with a Ka, 3 hits in the rear. I was like, "Great, a cop..." and was about to floor it, but my friend barely budged. He pulled us over and dropped racing charges and speeding 84 in a 45, even though i never went over 80 in that run. After being pulled over, he calls in 3 more cars, in which they just sat around doing nothing, one guy smoking a cuban, and then the K9 unit showed up, so we had barking dogs going off in the background. What a waste of time on all their parts.
We were then sent to the Gwinnett County Detention Center in which hell truely began. My friend and I were the only ones with something different than DUI. It started with a room with about 20 people in it, which was not bad, but about 3 hours later, they moved us over a room to where about 40 people were, all standing and barely any room. The room was boiling hot and the cops did not give a rats ass. Looking out the window, you could just see the cops just sitting there chatting instead of going through all the check-in procedures. Finally, after about 6 hours after that, they moved us over into a room with phones, but only one of them worked. The room was crowded as well, but atleast had some breathing room. There is nothing like breathing in mass amounts of man B.O. After about 2 hours, they pulled us out to clean the room, which was a fairly simple procedure of just wiping bleach all over the floor. They moved us back in and I had major issues with breathing and eyes freaking out as well. I was lucky enough to get my call through before though, because the phones were all dead when we went back in. I feel sorry for all those people who never got a chance to use the phone, they will be in there for a total of 48 hours. After about a total of 14 hours for me, 24 of which I have had no sleep, I finally got out of that hell hole we call a jail and was finally out into the real world again. I have a feeling that when they towed my car, they destroyed my suspension and bumpers, they just had to. I am sitting here typing this with no sleep, so please excuse any bad grammar and so on. A summary would be that my friend and I were messing around at 1AM and ended up going to jail, where the cops treated us like dogs and I will probably end up with some disease for being in those holding rooms for so long. As for the legal side, what should I do? I was thinking of going with a lawyer, and all I need is to get the racing ticket taken off, because that is what will pull my license. Any recommendations would be great.

I've heard bad things about GA cops.

that sucks Rob, i feel for ya. I know that stretch of road quite well as most of my college friends live over in that area and i can see exactly why you did what you did. it just wasn't your night.

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.
That sucks bro, been there a couple of times myself (slow learner... ) Get yourself a lawyer to get it at least reduced so you can still drive.
On the other side of it, it'll make you think twice knowing what the cops attitude, their treatment and the headaches involved. That's why I have the bird - track is a better (& safer) place to take out the "right foot stomp" It could've been worse - try having a drunk pull out of a driveway without lights on and "clock" him doing 115mph - you know who's fault that's going to be don't you? (2 guesses & the first 2 don't count)
Dude that sucks. Hope everything works out for the best.
Maybe its time for an M42...atleast they wouldnt have put u in jail cause you wouldnt have been going as fast...haha
i kno my humor sucks.
anyways. Good luck

Whoah!
Try and get your offenses ammended. You have to talk to a lawyer, and they replace them to moving violations. I don't know about the racing ticket, but I've had several friends doing double the speed limit reduced to nearly nothing.
