Because I like the M3, and I don't want to put that much money into it right now. I have a lot of funds tied up in business-related things currently, and I could put the sale $$$ from the 328 to very good use there. Hopefully in a month or so I'll have more freedom for car stuff. =/

tomorrow hopefully we are going to pull a fuel line and test the flow, comparing it to his 328 since that thing has a working fuel pump. That will be the only test we need, if the fuel flow is fine (which i doubt 100%) then its the ECU
but here is my reasoning for the fuel pump
I had the idea to leave the car in the on position for about 5 minutes, the car would then turn over and crank all the way up and die after 5 seconds. We did it again and harry stabbed the accelerator upon it cranking over, died immediately, we did it once more a few minutes and the thing kicked over some again. This suggest to me there is a huge shortage of fuel due to a weak pump. We let it sit in the on position so the pump had time in its weak state to get enough fuel to idle for a few seconds, the second we jabbed the throttle, the fuel pump could not supply enough and died.

i'm probably dead wrong here, but is tehre a chance the engine's been hydrolocked?

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.

I don't see how hydrolocking would have anything to do with harry's problem.
do a fuel test and see what that leads to, that sounds like it could be the problem, or your ecu is screwed and thats the reason for low amount of fuel.
