That's a loaded question...lol. Some has it's place & time but people have gotten so carried away with it and use it more to cover up or "sugar coat" things to make them or things sound technical or more important. I think it's overused & abused and used to manipulate. Most times it's just funny.
IE: Venue Management Systems Enginners = F'ing janitors
Transport Specialists = Truck Drivers
Human Resources = Employment office
Public Safety = Police

This is going to be for part of my essay.
Right now I am talking about the census bearu and how all people are clumped into only four main groups.
I am also stating how it is ridiculous how we have to worry about what we say so much. I believe that it stops the progressive movement to end racsim because we are afraid to talk about stereotypes.

Brien - P/C is ESPECIALLY sugar coated when it comes to racial issues and you are right my friend when RE: progressive movement to end racism. It's the fine line between discussion and pissing someone off and it get's diluted inbetween. It's highly amplified here in U.S. because we preach equal rights so hard. In other countries it's more of unspoken word and that's where shit starts to fly. I work for & with people from all walks of life and have learned that the only real prejudice that exists is their abilities not their color, race or gender. I have a sticker on one of my road boxes that says "If we were all blind, prejudice wouldn't exist".
(one of my guys has some input - "P/C is a labeling/classification given to people/things by people who are too stupid and have nothing better to do but criticize others to justify their existance...lol)
