Just ask, man. Its prom. Many girls have told me that I have a great creative ability when it comes to treating women, but I refuse to use my energies -- and would hooe that you didn't either -- on figuring out a non-conventional way of asking.

Now, if you were asking somebody other than your girlfriend, then we would have a nice challenge worth pursuing.

Okay, i have succumbed (well, partially). Don't do anything too over-the-top. Do something along the same level of effort of the fortune cookie idea. Something like that shows that you do not take her for granted, but without setting the bar too high for future gestures.

Maybe buy her something you would like her to wear

: a pendant, or lengerie, earings, you know her, so you decide what. You can give it to her on some random day, with some flowers, maybe take her out... then tell her you would love it if she wore that to prom...
