This is gonna sound crazy, but you can also gargle with hydrogen peroxide. If you're nuts enough to do it, make sure you don't swallow it, and do it only once or twice a day, or it will irritate your throat.

Zinc lozenges (not tablets or capsules) also works for me, as well as garlic pills.

No shit, I'm not kidding. It kills the virus on contact. Studies were made in the 30's that the cold virus actually enters your ear canal, not through the nose, mouth, or eyes as we assume today. They used to say that once you feel the symptoms of the cold, you should pour some peroxide in your ears. Strange as it may sound, it worked for a large percent of the population. But the theory was squashed by the medical industry. Still, people continue to do it and also gargle with peroxide, and they swear by it. Your results may vary, but I did it just last week, and my cold only lasted 4 days. JUST DON'T SWALLOW IT, and gargle with water to rinse your throat out afterwards. Here's more: http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:...ient=firefox-a

TJsBimm's idea of gargling with salt water is good- it relieves the sinuses. And craig is also right about being a little active- the exercise boosts the immune system and circulates the disease fighting elements in the blood.

there is a product developed here in canada called cold ef-ex. I heard that it was just released in the US. But they are not allowed to advertise it as a cold remedy, even though thats what it was designed for and it actually works. See if you can find it in a health food store. It is an all natural supplement that has high amounts of concentrated ginseng. Ive used it, and it actually works.

Pump your body with plenty of Echinacea (SP?). It's an herbal supplement that boosts your immune system. Also eat some Vitamin C tablets and you'll be better in no time. And if all else fails, get shithoused again and you'll forget all about it.

Oh yeah, drink lots of water too to flush out your system.

According to Wikipedia:
Quote:
Swallowing hydrogen peroxide solutions is particularly dangerous, as decomposition in the stomach releases large quantities of gas (10 times the volume of a 3% solution) leading to internal bleeding.
