Reason for so many threads

In the past hour or so i've posted so many threads becayse i need a new car. I can't afford this price of tgas on my car and justify it at the same time, because frankly, i hate my car. I always have. its big and slow.

i want a bimmer. I Need a bimmer, and won't find anything else acceptable. i'd buy harry's 328 and do a tranny swap, but i don't have that kind of money because of how much i pay (not my parents, ME) to go to the school i go to. I found a 318is for a decent price as long as the carfax checks out. But its a 318! whihc means its slow! so i'd eventually wanna do a sick engine/tranny swap.

anyone have any advice? Manual is preferable and i have about 5k to work with here.

speed isnt too important.. handling is where its at.

if you care about speed more then handling get an american car and deal with the gas price.

318 for sure. That 635 is nice, and it gets decent gas mileage, but it's gonna be an investment as far as maintenance. You gotta really love a car like that to own it.

can someone get me a carfax on that car?

xsperf 04-29-2006 10:52 PM

how about a porsche 928 for 8500? lol jk.. but, a 318 is honestly not a bad car, yea its slow, but think of it as you getting another car, not a bimmer, like say you couldnt quite afford a bimmer, and you were gonna get something very practical and reliable, like a honda civic, then get a 318, they are very priceworthy and last forever, then once you save a few bux, sell the 318 and buy a little faster one

Maybe look for an e30? In anycase good luck with your search.

i think turning the 318is into a sweet car with an S54 swap when i get the money would just RAPEEEEEE

Yeah, but keeping it a 318 = save gas price? no? :type

uh... just keep the 318 until you'r edone with college and buy anohter.

Linds 04-30-2006 10:29 AM

I don't think he has a 318. Actually I don't know what kind of car he has.

So, what car are you getting rid of to get a bimmer? This is probably in another thread but I'm lazy, so just tell me here.

SHAHAB323IS 04-30-2006 11:03 AM

why don't you just buy a motorcycle, gets great gas mileage and you'll get a lot of attention

he said he wanted to buy a 318 and then when he got done with college to put an s54 into it. just buy a 318, keep it until done with college, and replace it with a newer bmw.

Yes, get the 318. My 328i was $6000 1.5 years ago, so you may still find something like a 325 for $5000. Keep in mind that you will have to dish out some $$$ to fix any little things any used vehicle will have that need fixing.

Also, look into e30s. Great cars, and you can swap in an s52 for maximum joy :D.
