Who has DirecTV with DVR? - United Bimmer Community

Is it just my DVR from DirecTV, or does this thing have to be reset all the time? The signal goes blank (black screen) about 3 or 4 times a week, and I have to reset it by pushing the red button by the card slot all the time

I think you've got a "biffed" unit. Call Dierct TV up and rail their asses, that isn't right bro...

I agree with c1apton. Our Direct TV never needs resetting unless the signal was blocked by weather

^^^Yes. That's why I'm thinking this unit may be bad; the hard drive may be flaky, causing the unit to crash

How long have you had the unit for, is there something along the lines of a 1 year warranty at the minimum?

^^^You don't buy it, you rent it as part of your subscription; it's still the property of DirecTV. So I can just have them replace it. I just wonder if this behavior is normal for these things.

I wouldn't think so because I would imagine many people with direct tv have those DVR's, and if a lot of people had problems like that then direct tv would be sending out a lot of new units.
