The RAZR phone
does anyone have one of these phones? If so.... do you know where to get software so my PC can recognize it? I have the proper USB cable, but my computer cant see the phone, I have tones of stuff I would like to upload.
I just use bluetooth for transfering files (I actually have two Razr's, lol). However I just bought my tones through Cingular... I didn't upload my own.

bluetooth hey? I guess i should do a little more research. I thought blue tooth was just for a wireless headset, i didnt know it had anything to do with transferring data.

My Razr currently has an unbranded firmware with all Cingular garbage removed, about 20 added MP3 ringtones that I uploaded, custom themes added, and so on. The site has a tutorial site on there that is your best bet. The only software that you have to buy is the stuff that flashes your Razr, but you can also find it by searching google. If you have the USB cable that connects to your Razr, then all you need is the software and drivers, then you are good to go.
Oh yeah. You can pick up a blue tooth USB dongle on ebay for like $12 shipped (Buy it Now = $.99, Shipping = $11). My brother ordered one for his phone and it works great.

I have a SLVR L7, which is not much different. You have to ensure to set the USB connection device to the memory card. Then you should be able to find your phone as a removable drive in "My Computer"
I'll have to check out that site, Rob. Is it new firmware? I hate Motorola's firmware. It is horrible. Not intuitive at all. I share a lab at school with a guy that worked in the company that designed th RAZR's firmware while they were doing it, and he tells me that they were rushing the engineers like crazy, and that it is no surprise that it has many inconveniences.

Razr's don't have memory card slots, hence no iTunes.
Most of the firmware is being hacked into cut down, unbloated, faster, and cleaner versions. Check out www.motox.us as well. If you guys can figure out SEEM editing, then you can pretty much do anything with your phone. Let's just say I can make mine light up to the beat of music being played in the background, or at a club/bar for that matter. I haven't tested it on any hotties yet, but I need to. It should catch some attention.
