Do you like to go sideways?

Just for fun, how many of you like to drift, or get your bimmer going sideways?

I know I do :tup

I had to vote sometimes, but it might not always be in a "safe" place.

130 HP+ automatic+ no drifting skills(im practicing on a good corner near my house, its dirt so its easy)= no drift.

i do drift on a dirt road near my house, but thats not realy a drift. so does that count?

I like to do it, just not in the BMW

witeshark 03-24-2006 01:27 PM

There's nothing quite like it on a wet road :adance

jms 03-24-2006 01:40 PM

I love a wet parking lot, or a sharp turn in gravel, just a controlled loss of traction. You don't need a ton of horse power to do it, just a determination to not have traction.

i do it in downtown, i do it all the time. i did it last night, turning onto grant street. i actually took a course up at beaverun that definitely helped my drifting schools. destroyed my parking brake, too!

brien4787 03-24-2006 02:15 PM

heh, i am pretty damn dangerous when it is wet.
I tend to dirft a lot of turns when it is wet.

One of the most dangerous/stupid times was when I was leaving my college's parking lot... 2 turning lanes exiting onto the main road... on the inside.... drifted thru that when there was a lot of traffic. :bash
I could have crashed if I messed up. I am an idiot.

haha.

always only when nobody is near me now

stay safe, dont kill anyone. :drive2

Ever have it kick out on you on the bridges on the metal expansion joints? I had it happen this morning on the Duquense bridge.

Spieluhr 03-24-2006 03:13 PM

oh ya, sharp corners in the wet on old tires FTW.

but only if it's safe.

nick_318is 03-24-2006 03:29 PM

I do it all the time, people around my appartment complex are always yelling at me cuase i turn in all the time doing it. I will admit that with grip you can get through faster but the drift is so much fun.

RSF5 03-24-2006 08:42 PM

Oh yeah, last night it was wet and rainy and on my way home I stopped in an office park to spin the car around and drift around the medians, I thought I would do just one lap around the parking lot to be safe but ended up doing 5:woot

doughboyea 03-24-2006 09:00 PM

I vote the wearing down of tires.. only cause I'm too much of a pussy to do it. :(

Dough

Rooz 03-24-2006 09:27 PM

I love going sideways, but u won't see me doing it every turn, and I'll only do it on turns that I know and have driven through before ;)

catalyst 03-24-2006 09:32 PM

i do it on occasion, really is just awful for your car though, so i try not to.

Prob. the best ive done is a decent slide on an on ramp in the rain, sliding around going 40-50 mph is alot different than parking lot stuff, scary too.

have fun changing your rtab's!
