I always go to court, mostly to try to avoid points. for example a few years back I bought a lebaron convertible from NJ, I called my insurance company and let them know. They said they would add it to my policy. My wife also made a change and her change invovled wiping out my change, so due to the paperwork mixup I had no insurance. I got stopped because I didn't have PA inspection stickers yet, since I was on my temp tags. When the cop found out he couldn't write me for the inspection stickers he went looking and found the snafu with the insurance paperwork, and I was technically not insured. had I not fought the ticket I would have had automatic suspension and points. But since I fought it the judge gave me a much lower fine and no points. Although I hate it when they say shit like "I can't let you out of here without giving you something" just shows how corrupt these bastards are.

Last ticket I got the cop was nice enough to only write me for 5 over which on the freeway in MI is no points just the fine which was $110 and they didn't add anything onto it, so I was pretty happy and just paid it.

hey jms, get this. about a year ago and literally a day after a driving event at beaverun, i got a ticket on rt. 65. the cop wrote me up for the 76.2 in a 45 along with an out of inspection (7 days out, i had failed in the month it ran out but was waiting for parts) and the fucker gave me a ticket for speeding and inspection. went to court, the officer didn't show up, dropped the fine and points. boy was i happy.
