AutoBody Champion!!
Hey guys, I'm pretty pumped right now! Today I competed in an Auto Collision competition through a program in my school. Every person entered is tested in multiple sections: Body work (both filler and metal), blending/refinishing, estimating, welding, undercarriage identification, basic frame knowledge, and we had to do a job interview. I recieved the most points in blending/refinsihing (85/100) and the most points in welding (95/100). This combined with my other scores gave me the most points over all. I'm not sure if anybody really cares...but I'm really excited about it. BTW out of everyone competing, I was the only kid in my first year of learning bodywork. Everyone else had at least two years. States are being held in April, in Richmond

thanks guys! The greatest part of it is that the shop that hosted the competition has offered me a part time job as an assistant to the head painter. These guys are probably the best in VA. The place is called WagonWork Collision center. They mainly deal with BMWs, Porsches, Audis, VWs, and the occasional Aston Martin, Ferrari, or Maserati. Its kinda sad seeing so many nice crumpled cars. There was a few e90s that were pretty shredded up front, and even an old 5 series with some Fikse wheels on it.

Yup.
I've seen some pretty bad cars too.
Some bad ones....an e39 540i Sport slide (winter...snow/ice) into a street curb and bent the rear axel and messed up two wheels.
A different occurance....an e66 745Li hit a pole (or fire hydrant) and there was a HUGE V deep in the center of the hood....and bent the whole front bumper and into the engine area....but didn't damage the engine. That was pretty fun driving it around the dealership with everybody watching me.

Congrats man. When I was in HS I went to the state competition for mechanicallly fixing cars (i.e. the engine, lighting, electrical, etc.) I know how great of a feeling it is to win at those things.
