Does this happen around you

guys... or is it just my town... first of all i know younger people (and older people speed) but lately, a bunch of 16-17 year olds have been speeding and then dieing due to it...

2 weeks ago on the road i live on there is a rollercoaster (if you want to call it that, one of those hills that if you go fast over it feels like your on a rollercoaster...) anyways a VW GTI with SIX people in it (driver was 16 everyone else 14 or 15) were doing 70 on it lost controll, crashed killing one at the scene, and another later on at the hospital.

fast foward to two nights ago, a WRX (trust me i got a lot of calls asking if i wa alright, cause it looked like mine and was by my house again) anyways they were doing about 90-95 on the freeway i guess (not to fast, but still 30 over) and ended up hitting another car while driving recklessly and cutting people off.. this sent them flying through the median between North and south bound traffic, hitting an innocent truck going south bound. both girls in the back of the rex were ejected from the car DESPITE wearing their seatbelts (you can only imagine) killed instantly, others including the lady in the truck minding her own business are in serious condition..

Does this happen where you guys live often? cause it happended all through my years in highschool and are still happenind...

in the past week

1 14 year old
1 15 year old
2 17 year olds

and countless others within a 5mile radius all hurt for no reason.... but driving like an idiot without experience.. not that when you have years under your belt you are justifiable, but atleast you know a little more..

Drive safe

David

last time something like that happend here, some high schooler was drunk and though he could take a corner at 50(street corner, not much room) and hit a house. every one was ok(driver was a little banged up), and they almost hit the guy sleeping on his couch(he got up to go get a drink second before he hit the house(small town, you hear about everything that happens. lol)) other then that nothing realy happens like that here.(well, they do(but not to often) but not because they were drving too fast or being stupid)

Depends on where you are I guess. This stuff happens so much in the NYC area that half the time they don't even make the news . . . big cities tend to be more impersonal about that stuff.

Hm, I don't know about my hometown now cause I'm away at college, but in high school there were numerous accidents on the back roads cause a lot of guys (I'm not being stereotypical, it's just the truth) would race leaving school. There were some pretty horrific crashes; cars flipped over, on fire, way too many deaths.

david, doesnt suprise me much cause of where you live, I-5 is a HUGE highway people drive recklessly on all the time, as unfortunate as it is. Fortunately, neither myself or anyone I know have ever been in a serious accident.

happens every so often, but for the most part we have good quality roads so its not really the roads fault. and I live in an area where 99.9% of people go to driving school (it also cuts your insurance in half for life) and there's not enough traffic free road for people to do stupid shit. but up ehre in rome where i go to school, hwy 20 is basically 20 miles of straight road over the rolling hills of north georgia with only a few turns.
