Just fight the ticket, at worst they'll hit you with a partial fine, then just add what they fine you to the amount you're suing the tow company.

So wait it was $15 for the ticket, plus towing charges?

If your just paying $15 for the ticket, then its not worth pleading guilty against, it would be more hassle than $15.

I know, $15's nothing.... but it's the principle. I honestly don't think I was illegally parked, and they towed my car, so I'm not giving them my money without a fight.

BTW, they also wrote on my ticket by model "325i", so I can use that as levelage too. "If the officer didn't even pay enough attention to notice what model car he was towing when the badge is right there clear as day, how could he pay enough attention to if I was parked too close to a driveway? Did he even look at the car at all?" (that statement needs tweaking)

And on other news my new custom license place saying KOMODO came in today (bought tag before M3, so I need to stop by the tag office and get it transferred from the 328 to the M).

Heh, and check out what I was thinking about on the way to the courthouse this morning:
"I'm sitting here driving an M3 with a tag registered to a 328 on the way to court to fight a ticket written for a 325." What a mess.

Harry, you think that's a mess, wait until you try to describe it to them. 10 to 1 odds they are going to look at you with that "deer in the headlights" look. Then just dismiss it because it will cause them brain overload.

yeah, good luck. I'd still prepare for war though, most of the time parking tickets are a kangaroo court thing. They just tell you to pay the fine and shut up.

Good luck Harry, hopefully it comes out in your favor.

Regarding your parking ticket rates thats nothing compared to being on campus here. you want an hour at a meeter here its $1.50, expired meeter is $10 bucks if paid it in 24 hours then it goes to $15. Parking someplace you dont have a permit will get you a $25 ticket or towed depending on the lot. Those are just what i know from right off hand. Oh and if you dont pay your ticket and your car is on file they will put a hold on your account with the university until it is paid.

They'll probaly make you pay the court fee. When I had a parking ticket in pittsburgh that was 80$, they made me pay the 45$ court fee.

That's cause pittsburgh moved to the new parking court, those sons of bitches. It's all about seperating you from your money. I interviewed with the Parking authority and they offered me almost $20k less than I make now. Sick bastards. And it didn't even come with free parking.

It doesn't matter that he got the model wrong. It doesn't matter what you parked, it matters where you parked it.

Court costs should run you about 30 ... I highly doubt the towing charges are much more than that... and if you lose the case, you just added 30 to your ticket. Good job. Pat yourself on the back ...

right after you learn how to park.
