I smoke. Tried to quit a couple times, but to no avail, my self-control is horrible. Ah, well.
Although, it has worked to get phone numbers at bars in VT, where smoking indoors is prohibited.

I currently do, but my wife and I are going to quit together, right after the superbowl. figured it would better to wait the couple of days.

20 years and it's a bitch to quit. I know, "just stop putting them in your mouth" - no valid excuse other than it's a habit

congrats to all who have sucessfully quit. I managed a year but it gets really hard when you still have a smoker in the house. I'm hoping that with my wife and my sister quitting we all should be successful.

Yeah, the smoker in the house is what got me, last time i quit i made it 6 months. It's easy to stop buying them, but when three different people you see on a regular basis have them to give, it can get hard not to ask for one.

what I really hate are the vivid dreams in which you are smoking, when you wake up you are just have to have one. It's just like satan is taunting you.

^^ haha.

yea seems like people who smoke get irritable (spelling?) when they dont smoke.
My dad quit for 11 months cold turkey, after 20 years. Then my sister did something really stupid and pissed my dad off...hes been smoking again ever since.

the "withdrawls" do put you on edge. If I'm in a venue where we can't smoke - my guys keep their distance... even their demeaner is "skeptic" just waiting for me to go off on someone. (Being Italian doesn't help either) Still, I have to admit it's not a valid excuse,

well I'm going for it all, no smoking, no more caffiene, and lose weight. So I think by March I will most likely be dead, or have killed someone.

Kind of ironic that almost everyone if not everyone posting in this thread are of the "older breed" of UB.(not 16 yrs old anyway)

Seems like less kids smoke now a days. It's great though, the early education that goes to the kids about smoking must be working. I am a victim of the nic myself and I started when I was 16, so about 11 years now. I have tried to quit a couple of times but it is sooo damn hard, especially living with others who smoke. My roommate and I are also planning on quitting after the Superbowl, guess I was a little too late for the new years resolution. Congrats to all who have quit and for those who still smoke....we know what we need to do.
