Wow! I hope I never have to go through that :runaway
|
im no doctor. but i wouldnt be driving tahts all haha. just a question, how old are you like 18?
i aks cause i got mine out way early ( summer of freshman year of HS) |
That is very early. I got mine after my freshman year at college. The procedure went very well -- I had an awesome doctor.
I didn't use too many medicines. Play thru the pain I always said. |
How was the pain man? I hope it didnt hurt to much.
|
just had mine out a little bit ago. ya the narcotics they give you are pretty wild. i took one and a half oxycodone one night after my g/f took me to dinner and was messed up. I couldnt get over this little kid that was dancing outside the restaurant.
Buy lots of soups (variety), mashed potatoes, etc. All I had was chicken noodle and it got REALLY old. And bribe your parents or friends to bring you home shakes, nothin better than a milk shake. |
Don't drink the shakes with a straw, or smoke for that matter. Dry socket can be a bitch.

ooooh, I'm gettin mine out in less than a month, as soon as sports calm down a little bit. Wow, definitely not looking forward to this at all...
|
Mine were very straight, so I did not have to goto an oral surgeon..
I went in, got out in 45 minutes... He took the needle and injected something to numb me up (worst part of the whole process).. just felt like a sharp pintch... 20 minutes later i felt like i was obese in my face. wiggle wiggle pull pull.... then they were out. not too bad... i changed my cotton things out a few times... fell asleep... had 2 apple sauces, and two bottles of that ensure meal replacement drinks (they were recommended)... now just watching movies... the numbess is long gone, but no pain yet. |
Good luck with that, when i had mine out they could do it with me awake if i wanted, but quite frankly i wanted nothign to do with that, i was out and seemed like the whole thing only took a minute, I still don't remember going to the recovery room, but i was told i walked there on my own.
Hopefully you have no problems, mine came out nicely and I thought all was well then about 2 weeks later i developed an infection had to go back and get some more drugs to knock it out, but in all everythign was good. |

Got mine out Junior year of HS.
I wanted to be knocked out completely. I did stay up till 4am watching new movies. (theatre hopping is fun and legal when you work for one.) They had a really hard time waking me up....took 30-45 minutes. My suggestion is to eat Top Ramen or Mac N' Cheese. Worked for me. |
30-45 mins to wake you up, I would tell the nurse to give you a backhand lol if I was the doctor. j/k
|
I had mine out in the navy, and I've had a few other teeth pulled over the years, vics didn't do it for me, I adjusted well. I have had an oxy when I had scarlet fever and it was an interesting ride. For the most part I would say, try not to think about it too much and it will heal quick. watch for bone splinters and don't smoke or use a straw and you'll be fine.
