here's the pics is took. i'll try to find some official pics.
Note: I realize that the O2 bindings are old, but I buy things that work best for me, not whats new.
I had the option of buying step-ins, but last time i hit the snow, i had a VERY bad experience with step ins involving an attempt at a rail, ski patrol and doctors. so i went for the strap ins.

sweet deal man. I love snowboarding. Yeah step ins totally fucking blow. You have less control, and if they get any snow in them at all you can't click in. The next bindings i want are Flow's, the one's with the single stationary strap and you tighten the backing.
nice stuff tho. hope you have fun.

as for step ins i hae never used them but they look like they would suck.
Ride boards are awesome. My first borad wa sa ride and it treated me well, although i thad alot of flex.
Do you just cruise or tricks or a combination of the two?

is snowboarding hard? this is coming from someone that is finally getting decent at skiing. I heard it is hard to transition between the two.
Yes and no, if u have good balance u should do ok. Like im pretty good skier and i can snowboard as well, just not as well as i can ski. If ur just getting decent at skiiing ull either suck or be decent at boarding.

my dad was on ski team from freshman year of high school all the way through college. So naturally, I was a skier from the start, and i was good. But when i switched to snowboard, i SUCKED ASS. it takes a while to get used to it. but its a sport where once you get the basics down, you can progress quickly.
skiers, don't take offense to this, because i'm a big skier too, but snowboarding is so much more hardcore. you have the chance to go so much bigger on EVERYTHING, but at the same time, you have the same chance to get so much more hurt on everything you can do. on a snowboard, you're literally on the edge of control (pun intended to make a point)
If you're looking for flat out speed, stick with the ski's. If you're into crazy tricks, and that feeling of being on the very limit of control, that's where the snowboard comes in. personally, i find my snowboard to be much more forgiving on landings when you're going for big air.
as an example of going bigger and getting nailed bigger, i'll tell you about my experience with step-ins
so i was at breckenridge (this was the same year that winter x-games pipe and park tourney was there - why i was there in the first place) and there was this nice big rail set up about halfway down the park. On ski's there's no way i could hit it, but i knew i could get it with my board. Its actually my cous's board wiht step-ins, so i step in, thinking i'm locked, and i start headed down. I decide to go through the pipe to hit the rail HUGE so i go down the left side of the pipe and get speed and i launch probably ten feet out of the pipe and i'm set up to hit the rail perfectly, when my right bot comes completely out of my binding. I'm thinking OH SHIT and try to avoid the rail, which i do, but i still got nailed hard by the ground. Ski patrol had to come get me and i ended up with a concussion effectively ending my chances at enntering the am. competition they were holding.
now if i was on skis, i wouldn't have been able to launch out of the pipe like i did, i wouldn't have gone as high, and from experience, i would have been able to land on one ski, or at least try to to dampen my landing.
i'm not going to lie to you, snowboarding takes balls, and youre going to thrashed real bad until you get the hang of it.
ANYONE who thinks snow is more forgiving than hard ground has NEVER caught an edge trying to land a big air trick.

snowboarding isn't hard, it just takes a while to get used to and you get thrashed more often than learning to ski. After you get the basics down, you progress quickly.
If you do try to switch, don't do what i do and switch multiple times a vaction like i do, because that gets tricky.
I switch beacuse i love them both. i snowboard with my bro and cous's , but i love skiing with my dad, its something i've been doing for almost 16 years now, and hitting a desolate bowl with big ungroomed moguls is an experience to die for.

nice man. i got my christmas present early this year. got the 2006 Option, Kevin Sansalone 165 wide, with Ride MIG bindings and last year's Northwave Freedom boots. so far i LOVE the setup. got a season pass up at Mt. Baker. they started out with a good year, now they lost half their snow base. i'm pissed. everyone should check out baker, boarders that is. it's one of the top boarding mountains in the U.S.

our lakehouse is like down this private road from wisp in deep creek maryland. We usually go out west once a year for spring break. we co own a house out in breckenridge and then do keystone and vail for half the trip.
this year, since my spring break is vastly different from my siblings, my dad and I are going to go out to jackson hole or maybe whistler for three days with my neighbor. I don't know if i want to ski or snowboard, becuase i love my board, but i'm flawless (as far as form is concerned) on ski's. its a tough decision, and i'm not allowed to take both on the plane.

the deal is that i pay for lift tickets and plane tickets and he pays for everything else, so the price of lift tickets and plane tickets determines where we g.
