D1 -Japan vs USA
HOly CRAP! it was so amazing! I went to it on Saturday and it is one of the best things to go see. It was at the Irwindale Speedway located near/i guess in LA. USA won..it was kinda crap and uncalled for since Japan > USA. The winner was Von.... von something... he was driving the newer Ford mustang.. it was kind of cool because that car gets worked on in a shop that my friend works at.. (XMP) some usa guy had a newer viper, holy hell, it was the loudest car there.... so insane There was a 200 or less hp corolla that made it to the semi finals, showing that skill>hp though, it was AMAZING that he made it to the semi finals, everyone was in shock due to his extreme lack of power. I wish i borrowed my brothers digital SLR... next time i will did anyone go? I think it will be televised... let me know if anyone knows if it will be.  What I find amazing is that they clocked these guys going 60(slowest) to about 80 mph, inches from the wall, GOING SIDEWAYS!...  |

My good friends were working the track for that event. It would have been cool, except that the Jap. drivers purposely messed up so that the American's would actually have a chance. The jap. drivers were able to execute perfect drifts their first time around the course, yet somehow they all managed to make mistakes when it came to the semi-finals. That doesn't seem like a coincidence to me.

haha, ya, well the track isnt perfect either... they were saying that there was part that was kind of uneven when they had to come out of the drift.. |
