Moving.. bed or futon or what?
I am moving to Fullerton for school because I can't commute with my next semesters schedule. I am moving into an apartment with my friend in which I will be sharing a room with. We are looking for cheap sofas and shit on craigslist and shit.. though I can not bring my bed... I will be going home on weekends plus its too big for the apt room.
I was thinking of a few options...
Buy a basic twin size mattress and frame.
Just buy a mattress and just put it on the floor.
Futon.
I say get a twin size mattress and frame. You can get a cheap, good quality frame on overstock.com (shipping is always $2.95 or less). Find a cheap new mattress in a local bed/matress store. Ask the clerk if they have any discontinued pieces, anything "in the back" that they can sell you for cheap. Tell them straight up. They are used to that in college towns. They also usually help you out. Don't do mattress in the floor. I did that for over a year. It is kind of sad. Everyone makes coments about it, plus you will be too close to your carpet, which may or may not be sanitary.
Go with Doc Zs' rec. Mattress on floor is tacky and your back will suffer in the long run. Futons were a great idea but the inexpensive ones are nothing more than old converted or defective picnic tables. You pick up decent beds/frames cheap at bedding stores (usually located near schools too - they know your situations)

A futon is allright but get a nice thick matress otherwise you will be feeling those bars. My buddy has one at his house that I crash on all the time and its the nicest futon matress I have slept on.

I am thinking of just getting a simple bed frame now... anyone know where at?
Overstock has some, but too much shit goin gon.. just want to be off the ground a bit, and nice and plain... they have nice cheap shipping at like 1 dollar though...
^^ Then just try a local matress shop. Do you really need a frame? I think you can sscrew legs to the bottom of most boxsprings. Getting a matress and box may work better for you.

Get the matress and box spring but you don't need a bed frame to elevate it. Just use cinder blocks or something similar. It worked fine for me in college.
