Im renting a house for the spring semster of college, and I want to get some good floor speakers. I want some thing that will be loud and have good build quality, Because they may take a beating in a college house. U guys have any ideas, old or new, of good brands or models

If you're planning on an "animal house" atmosphere -> down to the pawn shop and LISTEN to what they have. If you plan on keeping them "dry" I'ld be looking at Marrantz, JBLs or DLKs can be had reasonably "Otis, he loves us..."

I have Klipsch 2.1's and with the 8" (i think) sub, they rival most decent to high-end car sound systems.

Dude, get yourself some DJ speakers with the carpeted enclosures. They'll take a beating and will definitely piss off the neighbors.

Bose 901's and a good 2 channel amp is all you need for a great party system.
