So lately everytime I log on to Ebay to buy some junk for my car or new toys..I keep running into these "Ebay Stores"...
Last year I bought a nice new set Depos and I actually bidded on them and won them for cheap ($43.99).
Now I need foglights because my R foglight got hit on i95 by something that fell of a truck a few days back and need to replace it. So I go back to ebay motors and now everything is an "Ebay Store" with "buy it now prices" set pretty high ($59.00 for teh same set of fogs) and you get charged sales tax and high shipping fees if they ship within your state.
I noticed with an iRiver Mp3 player I was trying to buy a few weeks ago. They were billing me $20.00 for local shipping plus I had to pay $16.89 in sales tax.
How annoying is that?
Now most of Ebay Motors is becoming like this...where one or two companies are selling like 200 foglights or clear corners and charging alot of money for the same thing you bought cheaper last year. You can't even bid to win anymore.
yea, its an ebay store, just like any other internet store out there, if its within your own state, you have to pay taxes, the only difference is that it uses ebay as an advertisement

yeah that sort of sucks though. Because I've saved thousands of $$$ using ebay for stuff.
I just don't like freaking stores on ebay...if i wanted stores i would go to the BMW dealership or AutoZone for stuff!
^^ There's also the auction part of ebay you can buy from... and suggestion, don't buy anything that's being sold in your state. I've never once paid sales tax from ebay.
Usually, in-state sales - charge tax. Alot of them absorb or "build in" the tax into the price. That only applies to a in-state business'. Business' have to account for their state income taxes and have to show proof. If you buy from a private party - this doesn't apply. Most will absorb the tax - it's just one less "negative" to prevent you from buying.
