-We added our link on wikipedia articles. They followed behind and added their link to the same articles.
-We mentioned we were developing a garage for the members to use to display their cars, they soon follow and find an out-of-the-box version to install called vbGarage.
-We talked about (and proved through my coding) how great vbulletin was and i mentioned in the beginning why i chose it over phpbb (what they were using). Soon after that noodles looked into it and converted their entire forum from phpbb to vbulletin, after using phpbb for years.
-We added RSS support to our forum, they added it soon after.
-They just redid their HTML filenames. Rather than being showthread.php?id=234234 or whatever, now it's english, like our thread2345.html format

I'm sure there's more....

We innovate. They pose.

And our community seems more focused and intelligent... compare lounge threads. We have threads about news, and right now an active thread about the physics behind an airfoil riddle. Their lounge has a thread where one of their supermods is bragging about being a post whore.

Don't get me wrong, I read werkz sometimes, and as I came from there, I like it.... I just see noodles browsing our forum all the time and I think, he's probably watching what we're doing now, so werkz can go copy it if it's successful.

WTF?

Harry. Even if Werkz is copying UB...shouldn't it be a good thing for you. A statement that your forum has been successful. Why berate werkz for copying you.

How is it a good thing for us? Sure it's nice to see people recognize we're doing good things, however can you see my frustration if I work on something for 40 hours, then a few days after, I see another forum implement the exact same thing, and their members doen't know about UB are all proud of the people who run werkz (I can't say owner, he doesn't do anything), because they add so much to the community, and are so creative with their ideas....

It's true, we're constantly trying to improve and add new features to enhance the user's stay, however I "berate werkz" because when they steal our ideas, in their own member base they take credit for the ideas as their own.

I'm not into the web technology involved in making a forum advance or good or better. But like 90% of new and current members looking for a place to talk about cars, get tips and chill out in the lounge, I know squat about servers and HTML stuff, but I do know what makes a good forum to me is the people in it.

And UB is a good place to me because I find the topics are cool (the lounge factiods and challenges), the DIYs are extremely awesome (like the stuff you and Rooz have done) and the members very helpful (Voca, Spielur and Dudesky should get fcuking awards!)...

And Donald thanks for your input!

By the way just get Werkz to give you credit and respect for what they have taken. No one at Werkz hates UB. In fact, I've read some good things said about your site Harry. Werkz mod, members and admins have admired your work. But an inter forum war is the last thing we need.

thats all i was saying.
