(CNN) -- After months of political instability, the government of Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin fell Monday evening when three opposition parties united to topple him with a no-confidence vote in the House of Commons.

Parliment has been dissolved and Paul Martin has taken full control of the country....riots in Toronto, Quebec, and Saskatoon...

yup, the government was defeated on a motion of confidence today. Now Paul Martin is forced to call an election, which he will do tomorrow, leading to the first winter campaign in 26yrs. Election should be either Jan 16 or Jan 23, and the chances are that we will be looking at the same political situation in the new parliament. Additionally, voter turnout may be lower with such beautiful weather in our country around the middle of january, people just cant be bothered to vote.
yah im a bit of a political buff... Im pumped that i will be able to vote in this election!
WHAT? there arnt riots! There isnt "political insability" here in Calgary. Paul Martin was the Prime minister before the gouvernment fell. He isnt gonna be leader after the election, i gaurentee u.
