Optical Illusion

I saw this and thought it was amazing.

The dot is just disappearing, not changing colors at all. Stare at the plus though and it looks like a green dot is going around the circle.

Whoa.

Anyone got any other cool optical illusions?

Am I missing something here? Isolate any of the dots by covering the rest of the picture with your hand, and you'll see the dot changes to green. No illusion here, at least not on my screen

The green appearance is a residual effect of the purple you saw the moment before. It's not really there, it's a retina effect from previous purple and your retina has to adjust to the new color exposure

Explanation. It's not turning green, just the dot you isolated is still flashing colors.

arent all colors just residual effects of the light hitting all the other colors around it? isnt color period just one big optical illusion. if you see green then its green, there is no trick to it, its fukin green.
