150,000 volts won't give anybody a jolt unless they're grounded
a taser has high-voltage, low-amperage electrical charge, designed to disrupt a humans nerve impulses. so it basically confuses your nervous system and you become temporarily paralyzed.
it's pretty cool but in my opinion not too effective given that it has to be repacked after you use your only one shot. in most cases you can just use a stun gun, but I can see whered it'd come in handy.
