Motorcycle Riders are FREE
to do whatever they want!
A police officer came to our class today and answered any of our questions. One of the guys asked what police officers do when a biker is speeding. And his answer was, "nothing". There is no way that any police car could keep up with a crotch rocket, and even if they could, all they can do is put their lights on and follow. Unlike cars, they can't try to push the bike off the road, because it will always kill the biker. Many people were trying to make it legal to be able to put down spike strips (stop sticks), but they couldn't justify it because it was just like the death penalty. So for all of you bikers, speed away! |
so not true man...you can outrun the cruisers but not a helicopter or the radio...
I've been riding bikes for years now and I've known a few buddies who went to jail for running and it was all because of the helicopter. I mean in most places they wont have a chopper and you could get away but running is retarded. The one time I decided to go fast on my bike I almost got busted. I was on the freeway and decided to go balls out. 154 mph indicated and as my luck would have it, I passed a cop on the shoulder. Fortunately he was at a standstill while I was going 154 so he didnt even pursue. I got lucky and ill never go that fast again or run from a cop. Risks are too high for myself or I could endanger someone else. So basically, yea you could get away but they always have better ways of getting you... |
Helicopter. There was a police chase maybe a year back here in LA on local TV news channels (we love high speed pursuits). This weiner on a bike was friggin popping willies and doign 120+ mph. He got into the parking garage of a mall and dicthed the bike. He got away but was caught liek 3 days later. I also remember another high speed pursuit in LA maybe 3 years ago when this dude ona biker came off on a off ramp and drilled a car in an intersection. No too bad. Bastard cameraman didnt catch it cuz he didnt see the guy going off the off ramp. Stupid cmaeraman. Needless to say the biker ended up being fine and bikers dont get away, they just arent stopped as easily (except by themselves)

agreed, you cant outrun a radio or often times the helicopter. I was mainly talking about in instances with just patrol cars. |
yeah, you see a cops lights turn on and you can just turn off onto a backroad and most cops wont even follow you. I think that's what spieluhr meant, if you get a helicopter or camera on you then your screwed for sure.

The majority of the time a pursiut with a motor cycle will end becuase the biker will lose control at high speed and crash. Thats why cops will tend to usually back off or not pursue at all, even if they have a copter
|
However anyone who would go 150 on a bike, with that kind of risk, deserves not to get caught I suppose. That takes balls.
|
There's a fine line between courage and stupidity, everyone crosses it once thye decide to attempt to outrun a cop.
|
So if you had a car capable of 150-160, would you outrun a cop?
|
^^^^ no. but 200, maybe. crown vic cop cars can do 150 (barely) the difference with a motorcycle is manuerverability

Something like an R1 that does 0-60 in under 3 seconds and can get to 180 in no time at all cant even be persued by a cop.. they are just to fast. |
I think what he meant by maneuverability was the fact that bikes are so much smaller they can fit between lanes and on street shoulders or alleyways, etc. but yes, cars obviosuly corner better, that's just simple physics.

heh. ya. thats what i meant. guess i should've just said that instead of assumed you'd know what i was talking about.

btw guys, going on a really high speed on a bike(ive only tried it in a cruiser bike) and u hit a bump, you literrally fly off your seat, i havent tried it in a crotch rocket, but i heard its much better, even though the suspension is much stiffer, i heard the actual ride is much more stable
