Well, they are designed to go that fast. Similarly why if you push a ford focus to 120, it will handle like dog shit, push a stock 325 to it's speed limiter and it handles as if it was only doing 80 (unless you loose traction, in which case, your fucked if you don't have *lightning* fast steering work)

i've hit over 160mph on my bike and the only thing thats freaky is my head moving side to side because of the wind.. And the fact that youre going 160-something! I also have a friend who is a cop, and he rides with our group sometimes and he was telling us that sometimes cops will chase just for the fun of it to see the bikes crash. They think its funny!! HE says its a sick game but not all cops are like that. He also said that if youre going 120-130 on a straight road and a cop pulls out, just downshift and speed away.. Youll be gone before they get up to 60mph. Just make sure that the cop wasnt following you before!!

Crown Vic Police Interceptors are capable of only 200-210kmh (120-130mph) The police vans that they have are only capable of 180kmh (110 mph roughly)

its not the speed of a bike its the fact that they can get to 150-160 in a very short amount of time. the acceleration is such that no cop car is going to be able to match the speeds up to the top speed meaning they will only put more distance between them and the bike.
