I just got back from seeing it..... but I wasn't expecting very much so I wasn't all that disapointed--expected another movie from a book

I also saw it today. It's good, definately a movie you should see, but I agree that I was disappointed, I thought I would find more emotion in it.

definately gives you a good idea of what the emotions are like of a soldier.

I liked the movie. I don't really think it is a war movie, yes is takes place during a war, but that not the main focus. Also, having friends in the military I know that the movie did a good job of depicting what that particular war was like. You can't make a movie about Desert Storm and except to have the action of a WWII film, they just were not the same.

i didn't see the movie but the book was very good. The author came to talk at my college; he was hot. (oh, and me=girl)

Good- enough people have seen/commented on it. Personally, I was disappointed because it was done somewhat poorly IMO. I know it wasn't an action film by any means, but it was too wishy washy; not enough impact for what they were trying to convey. It didn't have enough grip, and I was left sitting there half the time waiting for something to happen, which never did. But it did have some good moments. And the homo scene? A little disturbing, but funny as hell anyhow.

After reading this thread, I don't think I wanna see it. Sounds like a waste of money.
