But i would have to say that every type of system has advavtages. Ultimately a car would be able to be switched from AWD,FWD,RWD. I believe that you can control this to a certain degree in the latest WRX, dont quote me on that its just what i heard.

One of the reasons that Quattro is so great is that depending on the situation, it can send 100% of the power to the front or rear. most of the time, it is a 50/50 split. Still, it really helps in the dry. I think it'd be cool to see an AWD e90 M3 with the 7-speed SMG.

I dont know about your ride, but my 535 has cv shafts that drive the rear wheels. This is necessary for rear independant suspension.
